Louis Cole

Patent Agent
Biography

Louis Cole's practice focuses on patent drafting and prosecution, with experience handling patent applications in electrical, mechanical, and software arts. He has worked extensively on user interfaces, software, integrated circuit devices, memory, field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), augmented reality (AR/VR) systems, industrial controls and automation, medical devices, aerospace, insurance, imaging systems, and consumer devices.

Before joining Kubota & Basol LLP, Louis worked at a mid-sized law firm in Los Angeles, CA, where he gained experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications across a broad range of industries.

Louis earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Physics from Rice University in Houston, TX. During his time at Rice, he conducted research on molecular structures and their interaction with phospholipid membranes using Raman Spectroscopy in the Hafner Lab. While working in the Weisman Lab, he contributed to refining a home-built rapid scanning spectrofluorometer with tunable visible excitation and short-wave IR detection. His enhancements made the instrument a valuable tool for studying Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (SWCNT) chemical reactions and structural sorting.

Louis is a registered patent agent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
