OXO POP Container Lid
(US 8,479,941)
View Patent
This is an excellent design for a sealing food container lid. Unfortunately, it’s very expensive. One day, while looking for a cheaper version, I realized you can’t find the design anywhere but the name brand—and it occurred to me that it might be patented. I looked it up and ended up having a realization: everything is owned by a handful of companies. Everything.
This is my favorite patent because when it expires, I can finally buy affordable, excellent storage containers.
